members not only teach logic but encourage investigation and inquiry as
a means of fostering critical thinking. Our new position of
Librarian will work directly with students and teachers, interrelating
the class curriculum with library research skills as well as fostering
a passion for literacy. - organize and manage weekly class visits to reflect grade curriculum for grades pre-K through 5 - create and orchestrate reading incentive programs to encourage student literacy - oversee catalog and purchase additional titles as needed. - work with volunteers to input additional titles into OPALS system. Schedule: 6 hours a week over one or two days a week including one hour a week of prep time (possible increase of hours depending on fundraising) Minimum Requirements: Librarian background; Jewish libraries a plus. Computers skills a must; OPALS experience helpful, but will train.Parent Organization will organize volunteers for open hours during lunch daily and for aiding in sorting/shelving books. Children's Librarian We currently have an
outstanding opportunity available for an experienced Children’s
Librarian. Job Description:
Provide professional children’s library service including selecting
materials for children and families, planning and presenting library
programs for the public, and making presentations to various community
groups. Minimum Requirements: A Master’s degree in Library and/or Information Science from an ALA accredited university and Class “C” driver’s license are required. Children’s services coursework and one year of children’s library or related experience working with children desirable. Salary: Starting
salary of $4,610 to $5,757 per month plus superb benefits including
City-contributed retirement plan, cafeteria-style health benefits, and
tuition reimbursement.
