Librarian will read to groups of students, help students select books, work with volunteers to shelve books and order new materials as needed. The position is one day a week, three to four hours a day, with the day and time to be determined. LIBRARY TECHNICAL ASSISTANT - STACKS MAINTENANCE (PART-TIME) The Frances-Henry Library Hebrew Union College-JIR, Los Angeles JOB SUMMARY Perform a variety of library specific and clerical duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES “Essential duties” are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted, or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer. Stacks maintenance & shelving in the Library and in the Storage area Filing shelf list card. Paging items when necessary. Unpacking & sorting major gifts. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES High school diploma required. Computer skills: data entry, searching databases Work independently as well as cooperatively. Organized and detail oriented. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Work under supervision of the Library director. May be supervised by other librarians for specific projects. PHYSICAL DEMANDS ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Retrieve and distribute print materials & other media or office supplies weighing up to 12 pounds and retrieve and replace objects from shelves of up to 8 feet high In addition to required interaction with other staff on the local campus, all Library employees will work cooperatively system-wide with Library staff members on all campuses.
